InScriptum: A Journal of Language and Literary Studies fosters international dialogue across Anglo-American, English, French, German, Hispano-American, Italian, Polish, Russian, and Spanish studies. The Latin title underscores the journal’s focus on literary texts as linguistic and cultural imprints, while reflecting its distinctly multilingual and broadly comparative approach.

Articles are published in English or in the same language as the literature they analyse, emphasising that language matters—not only because it shapes the fabric of texts, but also because it anchors perspectives in the contexts from which they emerge. This approach bridges the specificity of individual literary traditions with the broader scope of comparative literary studies. Uncommon in its assay, the journal aims at inclusiveness and promotes cross-specialty enrichment.

InScriptum is published by the Jan Kochanowski University Press with the support of the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (USA), the University of Bergamo (Italy), and Jan Kochanowski University (Poland). Full text versions of articles published in the journal are freely available courtesy of the publisher.

All submissions are double-blind peer reviewed.

InScriptum is the original medium of publication for all articles that the journal prints.
